Hey I was just thinking one of the things this is about is Japanese music so I wondered what Japanese bands do you like?I have many so I'll limit my list down to ones who I know have done music for anime:
Oreskaband -Bleach
Utada Hikaru -Neon Genesis Evangelion
Orange Range -Bleach
DJ Ozma -Narutou movie

that's all I can think of right now

Dir En Grey is amazing... especially if you like quirky metal. I hear they did some opening theme but have yet to confirm that due to lack of intrest.
Also a big fan of X-Japan, who did music for something, I wanna say X the movie, but I think that may only be due to the name...
And in a completely different genre there's Sakamoto Maya, who is an amazing pop star, did the opening theme for RahXephon, also voiced Mishima in the show. Sang the opening for Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight as well, and that was the only thing of quality in that show.

Yeah... I hated that show... It had nothing to do with the original OVA and the continuity was gone, the plot was stupid and they changed the history of the world even though it was stuff that had happened during the OVA involving the main characters. The opening was the only thing I enjoyed about it.

I'll have to check out the OVA then. I heard some people had the same problem with the show El-Hazard but haven't seen enough of the show to decide myself.

Have you guys ever heard of Kishidan? They are one of my most favorite bands! And actually DJ OZMA and Kishidan are the same people! Anyway they are a really cool group because they dress up as Yankii/Bosozoku! Kakkoi!!!!!!!!!!11

I have a few Japanese bands that I like, mainly because I love anime and once I hear that band once I try ti hear more of their songs.

Nightmare- Death Note (They only did the first opening and ending)
Orange Range- Bleach
Utada Hikaru
High and Mighty Color- Bleach
The Pillows- FLCL

I also like the music on the anime "Samurai Champloo" but I have no clue if Nujabes is Japanese or not.
